There are several types of alternative hairstyles and here we list a few:

Bright, strong and avant-garde hairstyles
The look is strong, sleek and shiny with a touch of a punk-element.

Directional hairstyles
Hairdressers are using geometrical dual-lengths with exaggerated A-line edges, lots of texture and strong colors as the look for hairstyles this season.

On the other hand we describe Cornrows, a look David Beckham made popular, Braiding, that has been admired throughout the years and the Afro, a well-know alternative to hairstyling made popular by celebrities such as Macey Gray and the Jackson Five.

Cornrows & Braiding
Braids the hair to the scalp in a series of rows. Can usually take a whole day to complete and any person can have them done. If they are done too tight they can cause breakage and even hair loss. Synthetic braids are always a popular alternative.

Afro
A rounded thickly curled hairdo generally worn by African Americans. One of our favorites, the afro, derived from the 70's.
